About this tool

What is AI Prompts for Marketers?

Marketing teams produce a lot of first drafts: the campaign brief, the persona, the SEO outline, twenty ad variants, a quarter's content calendar, test hypotheses, a nurture sequence, a performance summary. This kit gives marketers ten prompt templates that ask the model for structured, testable output rather than generic copy, with fields for audience, offer, channel and proof points.

The prompts insist on the things that make marketing work reviewable: ad variants counted against the platform's character limits, claims tied to proof you supplied, hypotheses written as "if we change X, metric Y moves because Z", and SEO outlines built around search intent rather than keyword stuffing. Customer emails and names in research notes can be masked before you copy. Nothing leaves your browser.

  • Ten marketing templates from brief and persona to campaign report
  • Ad copy prompts with per-variant character counts
  • [EVIDENCE NEEDED] markers on unsupported claims
  • Email sequence prompts with opt-out and postal address placeholders
  • Search, favourites and a Markdown library export for the whole team

How to use AI Prompts for Marketers

  1. Describe your company and market, for example B2B HR software for companies of 50 to 500 staff, and choose a region.
  2. Pick a template: Campaign brief, Persona, SEO outline, Ad copy variants, Content calendar, A/B hypotheses and others.
  3. Fill in audience, offer, proof points, channel and constraints, or press Try an example.
  4. Mask any customer names or emails from research notes, then copy the prompt into your assistant.
  5. Check claims against evidence, recount character limits and run the copy past brand and legal review where needed.

Worked examples

Search ad variants

Input

Product, audience, three proof points, Google responsive search ads

Output

15 headlines of 30 characters or fewer and 4 descriptions of 90 or fewer, each with its count

Grouping variants by angle (price, speed, proof) makes the later test readable. Recount characters in the ad editor.

A/B test backlog

Input

Landing page conversion 2.1%, heatmap notes, main objection from sales calls

Output

Five hypotheses with the change, the metric, the reasoning and the sample size question to answer first

A hypothesis without a reason is a guess. Check sample size before running any test, or it may never reach significance.

Background and insight

Models are fast at variants and weak at truth. They will happily write "used by thousands" or "clinically proven" with nothing behind it. In the US, the FTC Act prohibits deceptive advertising and requires substantiation for objective claims, and the FTC's 2024 rule on consumer reviews and testimonials bans fake or AI-invented reviews. Each prompt here tells the model to use only the proof points you list and to mark any claim needing evidence with [EVIDENCE NEEDED].

Character limits are where ad copy drafts fail in practice. Responsive search ads on Google allow headlines of up to 30 characters and descriptions of up to 90, and other platforms have their own limits that change over time. The ad copy template asks for each variant with its character count, but count again in the ad editor, because models miscount characters.

Email programs carry legal requirements. CAN-SPAM in the US requires a working opt-out, a valid physical postal address and honouring opt-outs within 10 business days; the UK and EU add consent rules for many marketing emails under PECR and the ePrivacy rules. The email sequence template leaves placeholders for those footer elements so they are not forgotten.

Common use cases

  • Campaign planning

Briefs with objective, audience, message, channels, budget split and success metrics, ready for the team to challenge.

  • Content and SEO

Outlines built on search intent, a quarter's content calendar and positioning statements against competitors.

  • Paid media

Ad variants inside platform character limits, grouped by message angle for testing.

  • Optimisation and reporting

Test hypotheses, landing page reviews and plain-language campaign result summaries.

Tips and limitations

  • Supply your own proof points. Anything the model adds needs evidence before it runs.
  • Recount character limits in the ad platform; models miscount, especially with emoji.
  • Personas should come from real customer research. A model's persona from nothing is a stereotype.
  • Work out the sample size before an A/B test so you know how long it must run.
  • Keep customer lists and CRM exports out of public AI tools; summarise patterns instead.

Frequently asked questions

Can ChatGPT write Google Ads copy within the character limits?

It can draft headlines and descriptions aimed at the limits, and this template asks for a count beside each one. Models still miscount, so check in the ad editor before publishing.

How do I stop AI inventing marketing claims?

List your proof points in the prompt. The templates tell the model to use only those and mark anything else [EVIDENCE NEEDED]. Claims need substantiation under advertising law.

Can AI build a buyer persona?

It can organise interview notes, survey answers and sales call themes into a persona. Without real research it will produce a stereotype, so feed it evidence.

What makes a good A/B test hypothesis?

A specific change, the metric you expect to move and the reason, based on data. The template writes hypotheses in that form and reminds you to work out sample size first.

Is the SEO outline optimised for keywords?

It is built around the search intent of your target query, with headings that answer the questions searchers have. Check the outline against the pages that currently rank before writing.

Does the tool upload my campaign plans?

No. Prompts are built in your browser and nothing is sent. Starred templates are saved in local storage only.
