Fun Tools and Browser Games

This category is for the lighter side of a working day: settling a decision fairly, picking teams, playing a short game, celebrating a win on a video call, or taking a few minutes away from real work. Teams use the pickers and celebration tools in meetings and stand-ups; individuals use the games and time-pass activities on a break.

About Fun Tools

Decision & Selection holds the random choosers: a coin toss, a spin wheel, a lunch decider, a drum roll reveal, a group splitter and a random picker with or without repeats. All of them draw from the browser's crypto.getRandomValues, so the animations never change the odds. Games has nine classics, from Tetris, Snake and 2048 to Sudoku, Minesweeper and a Wordle-style word game. Entertainment & Celebration covers confetti and fireworks, jokes, a daily fortune, an online piano and a Happy Birthday song with a name in a shareable link. Time Pass has a 3D globe and a set of calming screen-break activities.

Everything runs in your browser with no account. A few things load from outside: the fortune cookie asks api.ipify.org for your public IP to choose the day's fortune, the globe downloads its textures from a CDN, and five of the screen-break activities embed YouTube videos. Game saves and high scores live in local storage on that device only.

Frequently asked questions

Are the random pickers on this site actually fair?

Yes, as long as every option is entered once. Each picker draws from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure generator, with equal odds per entry. The spinning, shuffling and drum rolls are presentation only and do not change the result.

Do the online games need an account or a download?

No. Every game runs in the browser as soon as the page loads, with no sign-up or install. Saves and high scores are kept in local storage on the device you played on, so they do not follow you to another browser.

Which fun tools work well in a remote team meeting?

The spin wheel and random picker for choosing who goes next, the group splitter for breakout rooms, the celebration effects for a team win, and the joke generator to open a stand-up. Start fullscreen effects before you share your screen so everyone sees them.

Which fun tools contact outside services?

Only a few. The fortune cookie looks up your public IP at api.ipify.org to pick the day's message, the 3D globe loads textures and borders from the unpkg CDN, and five screen-break activities embed YouTube. The games, pickers, jokes and celebration effects run without any outside request.

Do the browser games work on a phone?

Some do. 2048 shows on-screen arrow buttons, the helicopter game responds to a finger on the screen, and Minesweeper can reveal squares by tap but needs a right-click to flag. Several others are designed around a keyboard and play best on a computer.
